TRANSFERS A transfer to FC Sion was cancelled yesterday but it looks like an American team would be interested in Anthony Vanden Borre. In the meanwhile, Vanden Borre's relatives are more and more frustrated because of his manager's behaviour.

A deal between Vanden Borre and Sion looked to be very close. However, in the end the agreement was cancelled. Ben Koulder said the cancellation was not a financial issue, but it looks like Sion were not willing to pay the same salary for him as Anderlecht.

Ben Koulder claims the deal was aborted because Vanden Borre did not want to play as a defensive midfielder. However, from the beginning it was clear that Sion only wanted him as a stand-in of Kouass, who is out for about nine months.

America

Vanden Borre is said to be joining the U21 shortly, but it doesn't look like coach Nicolas Frutos is really delighted about those plans. He now has the chance to work with a young, motivated team. Vanden Borre does not seem to fit in that frame.

The defender might also be joining an MSL team on loan trial. However, a salary cap might limit Vanden Borre's current salary and it seems unlikely that Anderlecht are willing to pay a part of his current salary.

Growing frustration

Vanden Borre's family are more and more frustrated about Ben Koulder, his current manager. Ben Koulder made many promises, but nothing ever seems to be happening.
