Anderlecht easily defeated Lierse yesterday with 4-0. The visitors were no match for Anderlecht and escaped from an even higher scoreline. Because of Bruges' defeat, Anderlecht are now 6 points ahead.

Lierse surprisingly took the best start and had the most ball possession. They didn't really create any good chance though. Anderlecht waited for the right moment and after ten minutes, the scoreline was opened. A huge blunder at the back put Jovanovic one on one with Japanese national goalkeeper Kawashima. Jova didn't miss: 1-0.

Anderlecht seemed to need time to grow into the game. Slowly the home side demanded the ball and started to create chances: Canesin's effort was stopped by Kawashima and Jovanovic' rebound hit the crossbar. Guillaume Gillet was more successful. He was perfectly put in front of the goal by Kljestan and scored: 2-0.

Jovanvic then hit the upright after another blunder in Lierse's defence. Kljestan scored the third goal before the pause after a nice attack. Canesin gave the assist.

The second half was a bit different. Anderlecht conserved their streingth and even let youngster Dennis Praet play for half an hour. Out of a handful good chances, Gillet scored on penalty after Suarez was brought down in the box. That same action cost defender Frans a red card.
