An uninterested Anderlecht got eliminated in the Cup against third division team Rupel-Boom. The final result was 1-2. The Mauves played with their reserves and paid the price for it.

In addition, Vargas got seriously injured at the knee and will be out for a long time.

Anderlecht was the better team throughout the game, even with their reserves, but Rupel-Boom proved to be more efficient. Beyens scored after half an hour.

The home side tried to react in the second half and had at least four open chances, but a good goalie Smet kept Anderlecht's strikers from scoring. On a counter attack, Mertens doubled the lead for the visitors. Praet brought some hope one minute before the end, but it was too late...
