"Vanden Borre thinks he is the king"

INTERVIEWS Chairman Roger Vanden Stock also talked about Anthony Vanden Borre, and a possible return to the first team. The chairman is very disappointed in the player but still believes in his talent. "He is a son of the team", Vanden Stock states.

"Anthony Vanden Borre surrounds himself with people who make him think he is the king", says Vanden Stock. "We wanted to give him a chance and he set his conditions. It simply does not work that way. He even refuses to offer his apologies. What he did in the past, simply cannot be tolerated."

Improved contract

"We offered Anthony a high salary and an improved contract because he really though he had grown up. We were wrong. He really needs to realize what he did to us." The chairman also is not happy with the fans shouting for Vanden Borre to come back. "I still believe in him but that doesn't mean he can do anything he wants. The fans should be behind the team and not behind one single player. We want to win the title this season and need all support we can get."
