INTERVIEWS Chairman Roger Vanden Stock usually avoids to talk to the press, but every time he does it, he has some interesting things to tell. The chairman had some strong quotes about several Anderlecht players.

Matias Suarez:"Mati asked to leave the team. I believe he was afraid of the competition with Filip Djuricic. I am happy he stayed, because I am still hoping he finds back his old level. He will have to prove him in the upcoming months. He shouldn't complain, our coach gave him more chances than he deserved."

Youri Tielemans:"He is having a hard period and does not have the experience yet to get over it. He is not at his best level because he is thinking too much. If he plays well, he is always a key player. It would really be a pity to see him on the bench for the rest of the season, but if that happens he can only blame himself."

Dennis Praet:"Some players should do more effort. I think everyone at the team agrees that Praet thinks too much about a possible transfer and not about Anderlecht. He needs to show us what he wants. If Anderlecht is not a priority to him, then he has a problem. However, I am convinced he got the message."

Guillaume Gillet:"He wanted to return to France because he prefers playing on the midfield. We tried to keep him, but I admit that maybe we waited for too long. I promised him a free transfer in January and I didn't want to break my word."

Filip Djuricic and Alexander Büttner:"We have been following Djuricic for years, but we couldn't afford him. I admit their arrival might be a risk but I really think it's worth it. These players still have a high market value. We want top players and we are prepared to take risks for that. I also notice both players are eager to play."
