The Anderlecht board decided not to buy an extra striker. That's what manager Herman Van Holsbeek said on the radio. This decision was taken after an analysis of the A- and B-team.

"After a thorough analysis, we concluded that we still have enough good strikers, namely Seol, Mornar, Aruna, Iachtchouk and Mac Donald. Besides them, there are still the strikers from our B-team, like De Bilde, Thompson and Zane.", says Van Holsbeeck.
"All those players have their own qualities. We followed the idea of Broos about De Bilde. If we can't get him transfered, he must come to the trainings again".
"The club has to find its way into the future", continues Van Holsbeeck, "and it's not that simple to find a decent striker so close before the end of the transfer period. A new one could also damage the self-confidence of others."
