Tielemans: "Surprised, but happy"

INTERVIEWS Youri Tielemans was elected "Youngster of the year" for the second time in a row at the Golden Shoe gala. He won with 17 points more than his team mate Leander Dendoncker. "He deserved it more than I did", Tielemans reacted.

"I am very surprised. I am happy, but not that satisfied about 2015. I need to play more consistently and should make progress. Dendoncker made more progress than I did", Tielemans was honest.

Van Holsbeeck: "Hope he doesn't win a third time"

Manager Herman Van Holsbeeck was proud an Anderlecht player won the trophy of Youngster of the year. "It should be a motivation for him to win this title again. However, he should not aim to win it a third time. He is 19 years old and he should make a step upwards. And Dendoncker probably deserved this more than him."

Hasi: "Dendoncker a bit disappointed"

Also Besnik Hasi was happy Anderlecht were able to win a prize, but also admitted Dendoncker deserved the trophy. "I am happy the trophy went to an Anderlecht player. Dendoncker is a bit disappointed, but he is mentally very strong."

Tielemans won the first round with 157 points, Moses Simon was second with 87 points and Dendoncker third with 81 points. The second round was won by Thomas Foket (151 points), Dendoncker was second (134 points) and Tielemans third (75 points).
