Dendoncker: "Ideal match to gain confidence"

INTERVIEWS Leander Dendoncker became a key player in the team of coach Besnik Hasi, and the youngster keeps working hard to improve his skills and grow in his role of supporting midfielder.

"I am working hard on my weaknesses", Dendoncker reacts. He is working together with physical coach Jurgen Segers to make his moves more fluently, which is an important aspect of modern football.

Most promising player of the year

The gala of the Golden Shoe will take place next Wednesday and Dendoncker has been nominated in the category "Most promising player of the year". "It would be great, but I am not thinking about it. I wouldn't be disappointed if somebody else received the award", Dendoncker says.

AA Ghent

An AA Ghent player will probably win the Golden Shoe. Next week, Anderlecht are challenging this team and it will sure be a tough match.

"It is the perfect opportunity to gain confidence and to show everyone that we are still the best team in Belgium. We will not adapt our game, we will play as usual, the way we did against Club Bruges."
