INTERVIEWS Michaël Heylen played his first match of the season against Club Bruges at the end of December, due to the suspension of Kara. He made a good performance, but is disappointed he only gets few chances to show his skills. The defender is considering a leave.

The board believes in the player and extended his contract until 2018, but it seems like Kara and Deschacht are the first choice of the coach, and Bram Nuytinck is their stand-in. Heylen is almost 22 and wants to play. "At the moment he agreed to extend his contract, it was the best choice", his manager says. "He is waiting for a chance. I believe he has two choices: either he switches his position as central defender, either he leaves."

"Cup final was disappointment"

Also Heylen's father is sad about the way things are going. "Especially the cup final was a big disappointment. He played the entire campaign and showed a great performance time after time. However, in the finals he was not even sitting on the bench. That was very hard for him to accept."

"Michaël realizes he has to work hard, and he knows a player who costed 4 million Euros will get more playing opportunities. But the internal communication should improve."
