Anderlecht can forget advancing in the Europa League after a 0-3 defeat against Ajax. The Mauves had the best and the most chances, but couldn't score. Ajax was far more efficient and scored 3 goals out of 4 chances.

Anderlecht started well and Lukaku already appeared alone in front of Stekelenburg after 4 minutes: the goalie saved. El Hamdaoui reacted with an effort on the other side. Suarez then was sent alone in front of the visiting goalie, but he also missed. Kanu repeated the process just a few minutes later.

After all the missing, Ajax showed how to do it: Alderweireld headed the 0-1 against the net. Boussoufa reacted with a fantastic shot, but Stekelenburg saved.

In the second half, Gillet had a great effort, but his header missed the empty goal. When Boussoufa was brought down in the box, Wasilewski missed the resulting penalty.

Where Anderlecht failed painfully, Ajax demonstrated more ability: Eriksen pushed the ball past Proto and El Hamdaoui finished the job a bit later. Anderlecht did not react anymore...
