What about the youth players?

The new season is announced as the one in which many young players will find their way into the A-team of Anderlecht. Kompany and Vanden Borre were the best examples of that last year.


"We can't dream of more players like Kompany. He's unique.", says Hugo Broos. "It has been about 20 years Belgium had a player like him. If everything goes well, he'll soon play for Europe biggest clubs."

"He'll stay for next season though, else he would have left already. And maybe he'll stay a bit longer afterwards too."

Martens, Calincov, Mac Donald and Hellings are looking for other clubs now. But some others have found their way in the team: "Junior for example. He was unlucky last season with an injury. Deman also prouved his value for the team. Gerk will surely play in several games. And last but not least, Legaer. I've seen some wonderful things from him and he'll soon end up in the line-up."
