Anderlecht sank deeper on Sunday evening. The Mauves were defeated by Cercle Brugge with a goal of former Anderlecht player Oleg Iachtchouk (1-0). Anderlecht are now ranked third at nine points of leader Genk.

Anderlecht began without Polak, injured, but with Juhasz and Legear in the team. Though Legear had to be replaced after just 20 minutes of play. Besides a shot of Iachtchouk on the post, that was the only remarkable fact of the first half. A weak Anderlecht only had one good chance, via Boussoufa (header).

After the break, we saw the same weak Anderlecht. It was no surprise when the home side opened the score. Reynaldo (Anderlecht player on loan for Cercle) centered to Iachtchouk (former Anderlecht) and he beat Proto with some luck.

Only in the last 15 minutes, Anderlecht seemed to wake from their nap. Coach Jacobs threw everything forward by letting Junior Kabananga made his debute. The Mauves were able to create some chances, but they couldn't score...
