Anderlecht was defeated for the second time in as many games in the Europa League. Qualification for the next round will be hard now. Split scored the only goal of the game after ... 96 minutes of play.

Anderlecht proved to be better than Split and dominated the whole game. Though the Mauves played prudently with a more defensive team. They had the best chances in the first half though, especially via Boussoufa and Suarez. Split was never able to really threaten Proto.

After the break, Split played more aggressively. Anderlecht survived the storm though and showed more offensive impulses in the last 30 minutes. Legear and later also Lukaku came into play. The match was stopped for five minutes due to smoke hanging over the field. Therefore, five minutes of stoppage time had to be played. Anderlecht, looking for the victory in stoppage time, was caught on a counter attack in the very last second of the match. Vukusic punished Anderlecht's napping defence by scoring: 1-0.
