TRANSFERS - INTERVIEWS Mahmoud Hassan, nicknamed Trezeguet, will come to Anderlecht in the next few days to sign a contract for Anderlecht. All parties have agreed upon a loan for one season, with an option for a permanent transfer to Anderlecht.

Mahmoud Hassan was born in Kafr el Sheikh in Egypt in 1994. He joined Al-Ahly as a youth player and was added to the first team in 2012. Last season, he played in 40 official matches and scored 5 goals. He played 4 games for the Egyptian national team in which he scored twice.

'Trezeguet' prefers playing as a striker or offensive midfielder. He is known for his outstanding pace and dribbling skills.

Manager Herman Van Holsbeeck is satisfied with the transfer: "A young talent like him will surely make our team stronger. We'll give him time to adapt to our culture and to our league."
Trezeguet himself also reacted: "Anderlecht is a very good club. I am so happy to be able to sign here and it's the perfect place to start my career in Europe. I also must thank Ahmed Hassan (former Anderlecht, red.) for giving me so much information about Anderlecht. It helped in realising my transfer."

Juan Carlos Garrido, former coach of Club Bruges and Al Ahly, knows the player well. "He has excellent technical skills and will keep a defence busy. Anderlecht will be pleased with a player like that. The only problem is that he's only good when he feels well. He will need guidance and that's something Anderlecht will have to arrange. On top of that, he only speaks Arabic. I told him he needs to learn English rapidly."

Anderlecht already took action as well. His brother will join him to Anderlecht for the first months. Later on, a professional assistant will help him with his new life in Brussels.
