Kanu: "Want to wear RSCA - shirt again"

INTERVIEWS Since Kanu has left Anderlecht about 2.5 years ago, he's having some troubles at Terek Grozny in Russia. The Brasilian regrets leaving Anderlecht. "If I had had more respect from the fans, I would have never left."

Kanu regularly visits Belgium. He has a house in Antwerp. Gazet van Antwerpen was able to interview him. "I've asked my manager to find a club in Europ," he sais. "Terek won't give me a hard time, but I'd have to cost at least 1.5 million euros."

A year ago Kanu was close to a transfer to Anderlecht again. Would he get that opportunity again today, he would say yes immediately. " I want to wear Anderlecht's shirt again," he sais convinced. "Anderlecht is where my heart is. I had a good relationship with Proto and Deschacht. But I'm afraid Besnik doesn't need me."

However, Kanu realises a comeback would be a problem for (a part of) the fans. "I think last year the board feared the reactions of the fans. It was a hate - love affaire. That's why I left. I was sick of getting negative reactions from my own fans. If I had gotten more respect, I would have stayed."
