Mitrovic: Newcastle or AS Roma?

TRANSFERS The transfer soap around Aleksandar Mitrovic keeps us daily entertained. After Porto and Benfica, now Newcastle and AS Roma seem to be the two biggest candidates to land the striker. 

AS Roma was the preferred choice of Mitrovic, but the striker is tired of the long doubting of the Italian club. He therefore wants to start the negotiations with Newcastle. The English ended 11th in last years edition of the Premier League (and don't play Champions League). Yet, Newcastle seem to be prepared to offer 17 million euro to Anderlecht. That makes them the only club wanting to go this far.

English and Italian media had reported earlier today that Mitrovic was undergoing medical tests with his new club, but that news is incorrect. The striker was present on Anderlecht's training camp in Tegelen. An indication that a transfer is not yet as close as we might think maybe? To be continued...
