TRANSFERS Portuguese club Benfica is showing some concrete interest in Aleksandar Mitrovic. But they'll have to compete with clubs such as Dortmund and Swansea if they want to land the striker.

Benfica suddenly became a serious candidate. Mitrovic has a new manager now. Former Anderlecht player Nenad Jestrovic is no longer representing Mitrovic. His new manager is Pini Zahavi, a rich Israeli who has excellent connections with Benfica.

And suddenly Mitrovic himself seems to be interested in the club as well, despite earlier claims that he wanted to stay or go to a bigger competition. But Benfica still has a long way to go. If they want Mitrovic, they'll have to fork our 25 million euro. And that could be the biggest issue.
