Anderlecht up to a new stadium!

OTHER Anderlecht and Ghelamco/BAM have reached an agreement about the new stadium. There will be a press conference tomorrow at 11 o'clock. The city of Brussels has confirmed the agreement. Anderlecht and Ghelamco do not wish to react yet.

Ghelamco/BAM will construct the new Eurostadium. This stadium will be used by the national team, will host the opening game of Euro 2020 and will be used by RSC Anderlecht. A few weeks ago, Anderlecht put pressure on Ghelamco by ending the negotiations. The club did not agree with the financial demands of the constructor. This eventually led to a breakthrough. Both sides were brought back together and agreed about all aspects.

How much Anderlecht will pay to play in the stadium, is not yet know. The club did not want to pay more than 9.5 million per year. The Mauves also demanded income from all kinds of catering and from the facilities. We'll probably know all the details by tomorrow morning.

The Eurostadium will have a capacity of over 60.000 seats and will be hyper-modern. New infrastructure will be constructed around the stadium, to facilitate traffic flows and improve security. It will be located on the current Parking C on the legendary Heysel area.
