Anderlecht lucky with a draw against STVV

Anderlecht could not win against STVV. The club from the province of Limburg, already defeated the Mauves twice in the league. This is impressive, knowing Anderlecht just lost three games. This time, the clash ended in a draw: 1-1


Anderlecht took a good start and seemed to have no problems with STVV this time. They had enough chances to score several goals. A header of Jelle Van Damme was cleared from the kine and Roland Juhasz missed an excellent chance, alone in front of an empty goal.

Finally the Mauves scored when Romelu Lukaku centered for Mbark Boussoufa: 0-1. But one minute later, STVV already equalised. Sébastien Siani's effort was stopped by Proto, but the defense couldn't clear the danger and Nils Schouterden took advantage.

Cheikou Kouyaté had the last good chance for Anderlecht. From then on, the home side created more and more danger. Proto made a huge blunder by letting a pass slip under his feet, but he returned in time to stop Ibrahim Sidibé from scoring. Gillet also had to stop another attack, with a late but correct tackle in the box.

STVV was ready to finish off Anderlecht after the break, but Sidibe found Proto on his way on three good occassions. And also Sebastien Siani wasted an excellent chance.

Anderlecht did not really have any good chances anymore in the second half. But thanks to the draw of Brugge against Gent, the gap between the first two remains eight points.
