Greece European champion

Greece has won the European championship football in the Da Luz-stadium in Lisbon, the captial of Portugal, on Sunday. They beat home country Portugal with 1-0 in the final (half-time: 0-0).

The decisive goal was made by the Greek Angelos Charisteas in the 57th minute. Before this European championship, Greece hadn't won a single match during an EC or a WC. On the EC 1980, they played one draw and lost twice, on the WC 1994, they were defeated three times.
