Anderlecht took one point in Romania with a scoreless draw against Timisoara. With the victory of Ajax against Zagreb, the Belgian and Dutch team are now side by side on the first position with five points.

The Mauves had the intention to take one point against the Romanian champions. In stead of five defenders, Jacobs chose for a reinforced five men midfield. Anderlecht proved to be the better team, having control over the game. Both sides had a few chances before the break, but a scoreless draw at half time was a logical score.

The second half painted a different picture. Anderlecht put pressure on the Romanians on the midfield, and could create several good chances. The home side was only capable of counter attacking just a few times. The best chance was for Suarez, who had replaced Lukaku. He was sent deep, but managed to miss alone in front of the goalkeeper. By the end of the game, the Romanians tried to put pressure on the Anderlecht defense, but with just little effect. Anderlecht continued to be dangerous, but couldn't score. Final result: 0-0.
