Yesterday, Anderlecht played with a very young team. Mbark Boussoufa, 25, was one of the oldest players. “The coach asked me to lead the team,” said the Moroccan player in Het Nieuwsblad.

"Guys like Kanu, Bouba, Lukaku and Legear are still young and didn’t play on their position,” said Boussoufa. “I had to be the example and help them. I think we played a strong game.”

Especially for Romelu Lukaku Boussoufa tries to be a good teacher. He also talks a lot with the 16-year old striker. “Sometimes, he falls asleep. He’s a big guy, but sometimes he reacts too late. He’s strong and fast, but still needs to learn. I’m really happy for him that he scored.”

At least Boussoufa also wanted to say something about Beerschot – player Wanyama’s red card. “It’s good that the ref immediately gave a red card. By punishing those hard tackles so fast, they won’t happen so much.”
