Today, Marcin Wasilewski will undergo his third operation. He’ll get some special implants in his leg. On the website of RSCA, doctor Kristof Sas gives a more specific explanation.

"A tibia-nail will be implanted in his shin-bone. At the top and bottom the tibia – nail will be attached with two screws. After one year, the tibia-nail will be removed. If Marcin can play earlier, the operation will be postponed to next season. The screws have to be removed earlier, otherwise a kick on the foot would hurt too much.”

Wasyl injury is going the right way. “Everything is going well up until now,” Sas says. “If it wasn’t, he would be operated on. As a medical team, we have faith in it that Marcin will recover from his injury.”

How long it will take for him to come back, can be said yet. “We can’t put a date on it. Until now we managed to avoid complications, but we have to wait the rehabilitation itself. Also then things can still go wrong.”
