Football teams that want that, will be allowed to leave their fences out of the stadiums in the future. That's one of the decisions that was made during the negotiations between minister of Internal Affairs Dewael and the teams.

Instead of the fences, the teams will have to make the fans clear that they aren't allowed to storm the playing field. Who won't do that, will get a serious punishment.

But there's improvement in the security of stadiums. This season, the police had to interfere in not even half of all matches. Still, the minister wants the teams to keep investing in cameras and a better schooling of stewards.

The fancard will still exist next season, but it isn't the goal to use the card as a security or control-instrument. In the future, the digital identity card should replace the fancard.
