TV-station BeTV, that owns the rights for the test-games, is causing a lot of fuss. The Walloon based company does not broadcast in Flanders which means that Flemish fans cannot see the match.

There is one possibility though: fans can subscribe on an expensive package at Telenet digital TV. If they cancel it in time, they don't have to pay for it. Though the whole situation has not gone unnoticed in political circles. Minister De Padt is blaming Standard, Anderlecht and the Belgian Football Organisation: "Football should be a party for everybody. It's unacceptable that some Belgians can follow the most important games of the season and others cannot. I will soon discuss this matter with the Football Organisation."

And that's not all. Anderlecht planned to help their fans by placing a big screen inside the stadium for the return match in Liège. Though BeTV refuses to agree. This means that the club is not allowed to continue with its plans. Manager Van Holsbeeck: "I would like to apologise myself to the fans. If we win the title, they are welcome after the game though."
