Anderlecht hoping to retain Fortis sponsorship

Today the stockholders of Fortis are in a general gathering to vote over a rescue operation for the bank. The result became a no-vote due to disagreements.


By the decision Anderlecht management remain hopeful over the prospect of retaining Fortis as shirt sponsor. "We had especially a contract with the bank, not with the insurance section or the holding. That contract ran up to the year 2010.

"I hope that it sponsorship continues and I am quite upbeat that it will remain so.", said RSCA president Roger Vanden Stock in response to the general meeting.

Fortis sponsors 15 percent of the club's budget, amounting to around 6 million euro.
