Kompany wins Ebony Shoe

Kompany received the 13th Ebony Shoe today. He won after two voting rounds. The trophee was handed out in a hotel in Brussels by national secretarian Jan Peeters.


The Ebony Shoe is a yearly trophee that is handed out to the best player with African roots in Belgium.
Kompany received 240 votes. Team mate Aruna ended second with 215 votes. He won last year and received the Golden Shoe this year. Mbo Mpenza (Mouscron) ended 3rd (132). Tosin Dosunmu (Westerlo) and Emile Mpenza (Standard) shared the 4th place with 128 votes.
