The path to the Champions League is wide open for both Anderlecht and Bruges. Both are, as we speak, protected in the qualifying rounds, and will not draw teams as Barcelona or Manchester United.

Because Belgium is eleventh now in the UEFA-rankings, vice-champion Bruges will have to play the second qualifying round, champions Anderlecht will have to play only the last qualifying round. In that last qualifying round, the other participating teams are: Barcelona, Deportivo La Coruña, Manchester United, Liverpool, Juventus Turin, Parma, Paris Saint-Germain, Stuttgart, PSV and Glasgow Rangers.
