Fortis era comes to an end

Fortis will soon disappear from Anderlecht's shirts. Roger Vanden Stock wants to end the cooperation with the bank after this season. Fortis has been sponsor since the early 80s.


"The name Fortis is being linked with 'losers' these days", he said. The bank came close to bankruptcy and was sold to BPN Paribas. Their stocks are virtually worth nothing. The contract with Fortis ends in 2009. There still is a possibility that BPN Paribas will continue as a sponsor, but then Paribas will appear on the shirts.
