Anderlecht are still looking for a new central defender. The Belgian vice champions are following Oguchi Onyewu of Standard de Liège. The American's contract ends in June, but is prepared to talk about an extension

RSCA wants to make a move during the winter break, however Anderlecht are speculating on difficult negotiations between the player and Standard0. Should the Brussels-based club succeed, they will bring Onyewu to Anderlecht for a very mild price. Though Standard and Anderlecht are unwilling to do business with each other after the transfers of Tchité and Mbokani. Onyewu wants to leave Belgium for the Premier League, having previously spent time with Newcastle United in 2007.
