Belgium suffered a defeat against Spain. The Belgian were the better side and immediately scored via Sonck. They easily held the lead, until Fellaini made a mistake which lead to the equaliser by Iniesta.

In the second half, the Belgians had several great chances and they even scored the 2-1, but the linesman had called offside, which replays showed was the incorrect decision. Two minutes before time, David Villa denied Belgium a deserved point: 1-2.
