The end of the Fortis era?

There's a good chance RSC Anderlecht will have to look for another sponsor any time soon. Fortis Bank, sponsor for 27 years now, is into serious financial problems.


The Dutch division of the bank has been nationalised and the Belgian division is sold to the French group Paribas. If Fortis keeps on existing as a brand mark, the current deal, which ends at the end of the season, will be respect. If not, the logo will have to disappear from the shirts.

And what about next season? Fortis was about to extend the deal, but Paribas doesn't seem to care much about the sponsorship.
