Boussoufa to fight against racism

UEFA and the European Commission launched a new campaign to promote « tolerance through languages » on Thursdsay. Anderlecht player Mbark Boussoufa is a part of this campaign.


The Moroccan player, who was born in the Netherlands, played for Chelsea and who has been living in Belgium for four years, is obvously an excellent symbol of the fight against racism. He admitted to be « regularly a victim of racist words on football pitches ».

A 30 seconds spot showing players from several origins and speaking different languages will be broadcast during the Champions League games at half time breaks. According to the European Commission the spot is going to be watched by 140 millions viewers every week.
