The 1-2 defeat against BATE ensured a shock through Astridpark.
Financial director René Trullemans warns that the club will have to sell players should the club be eliminated in European competition.

"It would be dramatic, not only because we lose points for our coefficient, but also for the budget of the club. We would not only miss the 10 millions euro of the Champions League, but also the 4 millions which we earned last season in the Uefa cup", explains Trullemans in Gazet van Antwerpen.

"I estimate that our budget will fall back to 30 millions euro, whereas we had estimate between 35 and 40 millions".
In that case Anderlecht must sell some players.
"We must then examine if we can't sell some players before the end of the transfer period."
