Anderlecht aren't interested anymore in Filip Daems, the young defender of Gençlerbirligi. They are now very interested in Wesley Sonck, and Jelle Van Damme, both Ajax-players.

"I see Sonck as a replacement for Jestrovic", said Anderlecht-coach Hugo Broos. "Jestrovic is more a striker, Sonck is stronger in combinations. They both score very easily. Mbo Mpenza also is an option." But he is until now too expensive.

"We don't have an enormous budget left", says Van Holsbeeck. With this quote, he means that selling a key player will be necessary to by Wesley Sonck, and maybe Jelle Van Damme.

Today, Van Holsbeeck is going to Ajax to negotiate about a price for Sonck.

Anderlecht has, apart from Wesley Sonck, Mbo Mpenza and Luigi Pieroni, also a forth name on its list. The Nigerian Isah Eliaku impressed the scouts of Anderlecht during his match with the B-team of Inter Milan on Saturday. Eliaku (18) is acoording to the scouts a 'type like Radzinski" and it would be possible to rent him for one year for a small amount of money.
