Roger Vanden Stock was happy with the victory over Club brugge, and is thinking about the Champions League. "If we make it to the Champions League, we can make this team even stronger".

"We would have been happy with a European ticket this winter, and now we are almost certain of playing in the Champions League qualification round and we are in the final of the Cup. But there s no time for celebrations yet" so said the Anderlecht-president.

Jacky Mathijssen's comments in the paper, who said before the game that Belgium would want Club Brugge and not Anderlecht to win, had hurt Vanden Stock. "We have proven today that Belgium isn't against Anderlecht. That wasn't a smart thing to say, because it really motivated the players".
