Should Anderlecht and Bruges share the second place after 34 days, a playoff will follow. Because of the Euro participation of the Czech Republic and Poland, Anderlecht will probably have to do without Wasilewski & Polak

Test (or qualifying) matches are played when at the end of the season, two teams have the same number of points and the same number of games won. A direct duel has to decide who can go to the qualifying round of the Champions League. Normally, only one game is played, unless both teams agree to face each other in two legs.

Since Anderlecht plays the Cup Final at 18th May, a first test game can only take place on 21 May. Marcin Wasilewski and Jan Polak will be playing this summer with their countries the EC and can already be claimed by their national teams. Also Daniël Zitka has a chance to be part of it. On 26 and 27 May, both countries play friendly matches.

Jan Polak doesn't find it funny. "What an idea, to organize the competition like this", according to an angry Polak in "Het Nieuwsblad". "Maybe we should on playing soccer until the start of the new season?" he said wryly, "I don't want to play test games. I don't have time for that. In Germany, the Cup Final has already been played last weekend."

However test/playoff matches can be avoided should Anderlecht defeat Club Brugge on 3rd May and avoid losing points in the last remaining 3 games. A point can be the only difference between Champions League football and UEFA Cup.
