Reactions after Vanden Stock's decease

"With the death of Constant Vanden Stock, Belgian football lost one of his biggest personalities", said Nicolas Cornu, spokesman of the Belgian Football Organisation.


"We are feeling very sad. Vanden Stock was very important for Belgium and Anderlecht", he continued.

Michel Verschueren, former Anderlecht manager, is shocked. For 25 years he worked together with Constant Vanden Stock to bring the club to the European top. "The news caught be my surprise", said Verschueren.

"Constant was already sick for three years. Two months ago, I stopped visiting him. He didn't recognise anyone anymore. It was too painful for me to see him like that."

"Monsieur Constant was the man who gave me the chance to find my way in football. I'm losing my second father. Vanden Stock was a unique, capable and honest person", said Mister Michel.
