Anderlecht has asked Vergoossen to be the next Anderlecht trainer next season. He would have to follow up Jacobs. But the Dutchman declined the offer. He wants to end his career at PSV.

"I didn't have a direct contact with Anderlecht", tells the ex-Genk trainer to Sport/Voetbalmagazine, "but in name of the club, someone called me that Anderlecht would be interested, and if it was an option for me. Which it isn't."

Vergoossen took over at PSV this year from Ronald Koeman, when the latter went to Valence. "PSV is an interim, after the season it's over". The Dutchman says being charmed by the offer of the Brussels club. "If Anderlecht comes in the middle of my career, I go there on foot. No matter how, but I go. But now my answer is no."
