With the victory against Germinal Beerschot, the Mauves remainl in second place and close in on leader Standard. Next week, Anderlecth are in a 1 vs. 2 clash with Liege. With victory next week, a 30th title remains possible.

However, trainer Ariel Jacobs doesn't believe in a third successive title anymore: "There are seven points between us and Standard. It's too much. We have to focus on keeping the second place. We did a good job yesterday, but I must admit that the pressure was high with Brugge's victory. I feared a devastating offensive of GBA in the first 15 minutes, but my team handled it well and kept control over the game, thus preventing GBA from creating chances."

General Manager Van Holsbeeck highlighted the pressure with the league leaders: "Standard are still way ahead of us. We'll see after next week's clash. If we can win, they'll start to panic. They are under pressure. The title is close, but they don't have it yet."

Van Damme and Deschacht expressed their happiness after the match. "Our defense was impressive. Their strikers never threatened Schollen, so we deserved this victory", Deschacht said. "We'll try to make Standard nervous next Sunday by going for the victory. But first we have to stay focused for the upcoming Cup semi-final. It will be totally different than yesterday's match. We really want to reach the final", Van Damme concluded.

Mbark Boussoufa was unhappy with the referee: "He denied us two penalties", he explains. "Though I'm satisfied with our performance and our victory. Now we have to face Standard. But first, there's a new match against GBA. An important one, because we want to reach the Cup final."
Bart Goor was happy with his place in the starting line-up: "I'm enjoying every game I play. Our first half wasn't that good, with GBA defending very well. But we were clearly the better team after the break."
