What does the text on Van Damme's shoes mean?

Jelle Van Damme played with interesting shoes this weekend against Cercle Brugge. On his left foot one could read: "Jelle 3" and on the right foot: "Elke 7". What is the meaning of this message? The player won't yet comment.


On Monday, the word got out that Van Damme had proposed to his girlfriend Elke Clijsters, the younger sister of the former tennis champion Kim Clijsters. According to some, the text on his shoes could be the day they will get married.

Adidas, the company who made the shoes, doesn't have a clue what it means. "The shoes for Jelle indeed are specialy made on his request, but he doens't want the meaning of it to get out in the open."

In any case, the shoes seem to have some kind of special power, since Jelle scored twice in the game on Sunday.
