After carefully considering, Ahmed Hassan has decided to leave Anderlecht when this season ends. The Egyptian player misses his family too much. Also, certain things at Anderlecht seem to bother him.

"I don't want to play footbal in Europe anymore. I got offers from all over the world, but I'm not interested in money. I just want to be close to my family again." so says Hassan today in the Belgian papers.

Last week, the Egyptian club Al Ahly announced that Hassan would join their squad next season. "But I haven't signed a contract yet, out of respect for Anderlecht."

Hassan also commented on his last minute substitution against Cercle Brugge. "I was upset, not because I started on the bench but because of the fact that the coach only let me play for 2 minutes. I find that a lack of respect towards players with a certain carrier. You don't ask Goor or Zitka to go on the pitch for a couple of minutes, do you?"

In his last weeks at Anderlecht, Hassan hopes to win a few more prices. "I want to leave Anderlecht with my head held high. With a title, or the cup, so that fans have something to remember me by when I'm gone."
