Charleroi - Anderlecht 0-2

Anderlecht showed no effect of fatigue from Wednesday and jumped to 4th place in the league table. Hassan opened the score with a shot from outside the box. The Boussoufa made it 0-2 after a beautiful team combination.


Charleroi looked to take advantage of a visiting Anderlecht side fresh from a 0-5 drubbing against Bayern, but Zitka was rarely troubled by Les Zebres. After the break Anderlecht controlled the match. Boussoufa, Vlcek, Hassan , Pieroni and Gillet all had good chances to make the 3-0 but they all missed. But all that hard work had been done in the first half. It had been the first time in 4 years that Anderlecht had won in Charleroi.

The win puts Anderlecht to 46 points and leapfrogs GBA into 4th place. More importantly, arch rivals Club Brugge are only 5 points ahead in 2nd place, the crucial spot for Champions League qualification next season.
